Tiwa Savage fumes, labels Wizkid FC ‘bullies’
Afrobeat icon Tiwa Savage has responded to a Wizkid FC troll who tried to undermine her latest collaboration with rising star Ruger.
Her highly anticipated track, Toma Toma, premiered yesterday, November 15, 2024, accompanied by a lively Instagram dance video promoting the release.
In the caption, Tiwa wrote: “No replica. Told y’all this one is special. The @rugerofficial called, and I answered. Toma Toma OUT NOW.”
While many fans celebrated the release, a troll from the Wizkid FC fanbase mocked Tiwa’s post, suggesting no song could compete with Wizkid’s new release, which dropped on the same day.
Tiwa promptly fired back, condemning toxic fan behavior and emphasizing the importance of supporting favorite artists without fostering bullying or unnecessary rivalries.
“There’s a line between being fans and bullies. This unhealthy competition is terrible for everyone,” she stated.
The incident has sparked discussions online about stan culture and its impact on artists and their work. Meanwhile, Toma Toma is gaining traction as fans continue to praise the synergy between Tiwa and Ruger.
