Tiwa Savage sends well wishes to African Grammy award nominees
Award-winning singer Tiwa Savage took to Instagram to extend her heartfelt wishes to fellow Africans who secured nominations for the upcoming Grammy Awards.
In her Instagram post, she conveyed, ‘Sending my best wishes to all my Kings and Queens for today. You are all champions, and Africa’s triumph is evident.’
Despite not being among the nominees, Tiwa Savage graciously extended her support to her peers. In Nigeria, Ayra Starr, Burnaboy, Asake Olamide, and Davido earned nominations in the Best African Music Performance category.
Ayra Starr received recognition for her track “Rush,” which has consistently topped various music charts since its release. She dedicated considerable effort to promoting the song.
Burnaboy earned his nomination for his hit single “City Boys,” which dominated the music scene for an extended period, sparking online challenges and discussions.
Asake and Olamide secured their spots at the Grammys with their track “Amapiano,” a club favorite that resonated with audiences not just in Nigeria but also across several other nations.
Davido also garnered a nomination for his song “Unavailable,” which gained worldwide traction and garnered significant acclaim in the process.
All eyes are set on the nominees to bring the crown home, and a lot of fan bases in Nigeria are rooting for their favorite artists to win. On the other hand, we have some people who just want a Nigerian to bring the award home, and they don’t mind who brings it home.
