Tochi calls out Nigerian employers for exploiting workers
Tochi, the former housemate on the reality show Big Brother Naija, recently ignited an online debate when he talked about the treatment employees receive from some Nigerian employers.
Tochi, in a post to his Instagram stories, revealed that employers often hire people for one role and then make them perform other tasks at a lower salary.
According to the reality show star, only in Nigeria would an employer hire a chef and then turn him into a driver, cleaner, gateman, nanny, etc., all while paying him such a small sum.
In his words;
“Nigerians will employ a chef and turn him into a nanny, gateman, cleaner, driver, and delivery agent and still pay him 17,500 naira.”
The candid post by Tochi sparked an online debate, with many Nigerians sharing their experiences of being underpaid and overworked by their employers.
Some of the netizens who reacted to the post expressed their disappointment with the poor treatment of employees in the country.
