Ugandan athlete stabbed to death in Kenya
Kenyan authorities are investigating the death of Benjamin Kiplagat, a three-time Olympic Games representative for Uganda.
The 34-year-old athlete, who reached the semi-finals in the 3,000m steeplechase at the 2012 London Olympics, was discovered dead in a car near Eldoret, a renowned training center for athletes in Kenya.
Reports suggest that Kiplagat had sustained stab wounds to his chest and neck. Police in Kenya have initiated an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death.
World Athletics said it was “shocked and saddened” by news of Kiplagat’s death.
