Ukraine lorry collides with minibus killing 14
Fourteen individuals lost their lives in a tragic traffic accident in western Ukraine, according to a senior regional official. The incident occurred when a lorry veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with a minibus. Among the victims were twelve passengers, including a six-year-old child, along with both drivers. One woman survived but sustained serious injuries, officials reported.
The collision took place near the village of Verkhiv in Rivne region around 15:45 local time (12:45 GMT), as detailed by Oleksandr Koval, the head of the regional military administration, on his Telegram channel. Criminal proceedings have been initiated to investigate the incident, with authorities examining potential causes. Images released by the Emergencies Ministry depicted the wreckage strewn across a field, including poignant scenes such as a child’s toy lying on the ground.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned it in his evening video address and sent his condolences to the loved ones of those who died.
