Nollywood actress Beverly Naya offered a thoughtful perspective on setting boundaries in relationships and recognizing when it’s time to let go of certain people.

”One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned is that setting boundaries isn’t just about protecting your peace…it’s about making space for the right people to stay
in your life.
I used to find it really hard to say ‘no’ or speak up when something didn’t feel right, but once I started setting clear limits on what I could and couldn’t tolerate, something amazing happened: the right people respected my boundaries, and those who didn’t naturally drifted away.
In the beginning, it felt awkward, like I was being too strict or unreasonable. But the reality is, setting boundaries isn’t about being difficult—it’s about choosing yourself.
You’re showing the world how you deserve to be treated. It’s about valuing your energy and knowing that you have every right to protect it.
Now, when I reflect on those relationships that couldn’t withstand my boundaries, I see it as a blessing.
We don’t need to hold onto people or situations that drain us. The ones meant to
stay will honour your boundaries (and vice
versa), and that’s how you know you’re
creating space for healthier, more fulfilling
connections.
