What should we Yoruba boys do with our Igbo wives and children? – Comedian AY Makun queries as he reacts to Lagos election
AY Makun, a Nigerian comedian and actor has reacted to events in Lagos that took place during the just-concluded presidential and governorship elections.
You will recall that the election process in Lagos was marred by tribal discrimination and bigotry.
Many Igbos, as well as those who weren’t planning to vote for the All Progressives Congress, were denied the right to vote in certain polling units.
After the March 18 gubernatorial elections, there was also a tribal conflict between Yoruba and Igbo people on social media.
AY Comedian, responding to the tribal conflict, asked people in inter-tribal marriages, specifically Yoruba men married to Igbo women, what they should do about their children and partners.
AY is married to Mabel, a Delta-born woman. He also made a subtle dig at Femi FaniKayode (a Nigerian politician) who has been a strong supporter of the tribal war.
He tweeted,
“Now that d elections are officially ‘over’ in Lagos State, I am sure all these talks about BIGOTS & MAGGOTS will end on d lips of some COCONUT heads like d FOOLISH FEDERAL KOLA-NUT (FFK) seekers, Una for tell us wetin una want we Yoruba boys to do with our Igbo wives & children.
I just weak …..I don’t feel like a Nigerian no more …
D national anthem so heavy for my mouth now”
