Renowned singer and songwriter, Simi, has disclosed the rationale behind her decision not to charge other artists for featuring in their music.
During an episode of the Tea with Taye podcast, the “Duduke” crooner shared that she has never accepted payment from any artist for a feature.
Explaining her stance, she mentioned being discerning about the projects she collaborates on, emphasizing that she participates only if she genuinely resonates with the song.
Simi expressed that if a song doesn’t captivate her, she respectfully declines the opportunity to contribute. When she finds a piece that piques her interest, she finds it easy to craft her part swiftly.
Nevertheless, Simi hinted that she may consider revising her approach in the future and consult her manager regarding charging for features.
