Wizkid is my brother for life, took me to UK for free – Chris Brown
Renowned American singer Chris Brown has expressed his profound gratitude to Nigerian superstar Wizkid, recalling a remarkable act of generosity.
In a post shared by Luthortv, Brown referred to Wizkid as his “brother for life,” recounting how his kindness left a lasting impact on him.
Brown revealed that although he had performed extensively across the U.S. throughout his career, he had never had the chance to perform in the UK until Wizkid invited him to his 2021 concert at the O2 Arena.
In addition to the invitation, Wizkid also covered all of Brown’s expenses, a gesture that deeply touched the American artist.
“Wizkid invited me to my biggest stage in the UK in 10 years. I had been performing all around America and had not gone there for any show before.
“One day, Wiz called and told me he was getting everything set for me to come to his 02 Arena concert. He paid for everything, and I was wowed. Wizkid is my brother for life,” he stated.
Notably, Brown’s absence from the UK stage was a result of a ban imposed in 2009 after he pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend, Rihanna.
The UK government reportedly cited his conviction as the reason for denying him entry in 2010, preventing him from performing in the country for several years.
The 2021 O2 Arena concert, where Wizkid brought Chris Brown on stage, marked a significant moment in his career, and Brown has continued to express his deep appreciation for Wizkid’s support.
Their friendship, built on mutual respect and love for music, has cemented their bond, and Chris Brown’s emotional acknowledgement of Wizkid has touched many fans.
