The electronic means of payment is fast and is gradually taking over from cash transactions and giving bank customers more convenience to settle bills.

With your Automated Teller Machine cards and token, you can settle a lot of bills from the comfort of your home without carrying cash or transporting yourself to the office of the service providers.

All that you need are just Internet service, laptop, ATM card, token or, an active mobile banking software downloaded on your smartphone.

After making an online payment, your bank will immediately deduct the amount of the transaction from your account balance and send you a notification if you subscribed to SMS and Internet alerts.

The following are some bills you can conveniently settle through your online payment platforms.

  • Airtime: You don’t have to go to any store before you can have airtime to make calls on your phone. With the mobile banking network, you can quickly recharge your phone if your airtime finishes while making calls.
  • Movie tickets: You no longer have to wait to get to the cinema before you pay to watch your next movie. You can do your booking online, pay and print out your ticket.
  • Electricity bill: By using the Internet and mobile devices, you can use your ATM cards to pay your electricity bills online.
  • Pay TV subscription: With your online banking platform, you can pay for your television subscriptions. This involves services provided by digital cable and satellite television operators. Pay TV provides varieties of channels for you to watch and pay for through different electronic means of payment.
  • Rent: Without carrying cash or going to the banking hall, you can pay your landlord your regular rent and print out your receipt.
  • Insurance: Gone are the days when you had to wait for an insurance agent to come to you to collect the regular premium from you. You don’t even have to visit your insurance company before you can pay your premium. With your online banking platform, you can conveniently settle your premium and avoid default in paying for your insurance policies. This will enable you to enjoy full claims settlement when your policy matures.
  • Send money: Asides from giving your bank a standing order to pay some regular bills on your behalf, you can be paying the bills yourself through your online banking platform.
  • School fees: It is easy for you to pay your children’s school fees either in Nigeria or abroad through your online platform. You can also pay for your exams on time so that you will not miss the deadline. This is easier than going to the banking hall amidst your tight schedule.
  • Tithe: Once you have your church’s account number, you can pay your tithe directly into it from your mobile banking platform.
  • Data bundle: There are different Internet providers. Unlike before when you needed to go to their offices to renew your subscription, this can be done in the comfort of your home. You can renew it on your phones, computers and tablets.
  • Tax: You don’t have to default in tax payment. This can be conveniently paid for using your online platform.
  • Air ticket: Booking online and early can avail you cheap ticket. Your online banking platforms gives you the opportunity to pay and print your ticket before you get to the airport.
