Adele announces ‘random’ Munich residency
Adele has revealed plans for four concerts in a specially constructed stadium in Munich this upcoming summer – a notion she characterized as “a tad spontaneous, yet undeniably splendid!”
Scheduled for August 2, 3, 9, and 10, the performances will unfold in an open-air venue with an 80,000-person capacity located in the German city.
This marks the singer’s inaugural appearance in mainland Europe since her last tour back in 2016.
Despite initially having no intentions for further shows beyond her ongoing Las Vegas residency and two London performances in 2022, Adele found herself enticed by the prospect of “a one-of-a-kind, custom pop-up stadium tailored to accommodate whatever spectacle I wish to present,” conveniently situated “right in the heart of Europe.”
“I couldn’t envision a more delightful way to spend my summer and conclude this marvelous phase of my life and career with performances closer to home amid such an electrifying season,” she expressed on social media.
Signing off with “Guten Tag babes x,” Adele’s message exudes excitement for her upcoming European concerts.
Ticket registration is open until 5 February, with the pre-sale due to start on 7 February.
The 35-year-old is due to finish her Las Vegas residency on 15 June. Before that, she performed two sold-out shows at Hyde Park in London in July 2022.
Her Vegas residency launched in November 2022 after it was postponed by nearly a year because, the singer said, it was “not ready”.
Adele is best known for hits such as Easy On Me, Hello, Someone Like You and Rolling in the Deep, and albums named after the age she was when they were recorded – 19, 21, 25, and 30.
