Renowned Nollywood actor Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, famously known as Kanayo O Kanayo, has expressed his grief over the passing of his close friend and fellow actor, Amaechi Muonagor, who passed away during the weekend.
Taking to Instagram, Kanayo O Kanayo shared a heartfelt photo of his late colleague, accompanied by a touching caption that reminisced on their cherished moments together.
The seasoned actor fondly remembered how he would often express concern whenever Amaechi Muonagor showcased his remarkable acrobatic skills, despite his advancing age.
Kanayo highlighted Muonagor’s vibrant presence on set and his dedication to upholding their cultural heritage. He concluded his tribute by urging his departed friend to rest in peace, acknowledging that divine wisdom guides the timing of such departures.
He wrote, “Iyi, I was always afraid whenever you did your acrobatic somersault. It was indeed outstanding despite your weight. You would always say. Nwokem, o taa, meaning, you grew up doing it. On set, there was no dull moment as you did your best to preserve our Igbo culture. God knows why he called you now.Good night dear brother. RIP”

The veteran’s death was announced on the X app by one Morris Money who noted that the actor died despite flying him to India for treatment.
Just last year, the actor was reported to be battling paralysis from stroke. A video that found it’s way online captured when he pleaded on his sick bed for financial support.
Reports from the previous week stated that the actor’s health had degenerated, and was in dire need of financial support to undergo a kidney transplant in India. In a video posted online, the actor pleaded for help from Nigerians to save his life.
