Hilda Dokubo issues stern warning to Nollywood movie producers
Veteran actress Hilda Dokubo has issued a cautionary message to Nollywood film producers regarding safety measures following the passing of her junior colleague, Junior Pope.
In a video posted on her Instagram, Dokubo extended her condolences to the Nollywood community, highlighting the regrettable loss of five colleagues due to preventable circumstances.
She emphasized the importance of precautionary steps, suggesting that tragedies like the recent one could have been averted had producers ensured the availability of life jackets and if actors insisted on their use before boarding boats.
Dokubo appealed to Emeka Rollas to prioritize the well-being of actors and urged for proactive measures to forestall any future tragedies.
Captioning the video, she wrote: “Some deaths are avoidable! It is time to put actors’ welfare on the table! It is time to save the lives of those still alive. It’s important to practice in a safe and secure environment. There must be travel rules.., haba! Five persons one day? Then water spirits, native doctors, mermaid worshippers and all other kinds of craziness!”
