Menopause is the time that marks the end of your menstrual cycles. It’s diagnosed after you’ve gone 12 months without a menstrual period.
Dr Arikawe Adeolu, a Medical Practitioner at the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, Abuja told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that every woman was born with specific number of eggs which she loses during menstrual cycle
He explained that a woman could just enter the phase of meno pause when all of the eggs were tired, including that this generally occurred between age 45 and 55 decades.
Based on him, meno pause is a circumstance in which the hormones responsible for the menstrual cycle is no more present since the ovaries have used up their egg reserve. “Girls in this age range can start to experience the symptoms and signs of menopause that may consist of irregularities in sleep routine, heavy or light menstrual bleeding or regular heart palpitation.
Each of the symptoms and signs last for a year prior to menopause completely sets in. “During menopause, there’s dryness of the uterus, resulting in a drop in libido due to the lack of their eostrogen and fertility hormone.
“When menopause starts to set in, many women experience mood swings, sense of anger, anger and so forth but these signs are temporary. The body adjusts and also the symptoms decrease or finish.” Adeolu advised women that entered menopause prior to the expected tiime to seek out medical assistance and advice, adding that different factors could cause premature menopause such as premature ovarian failure.
He noted that “women who had their wombs removed may undergo early menopause.
The medical practitioner suggested women experiencing symptoms of melancholy to approach the illness symptomatically. “Address the issues one at a time since this Signs Won’t last a lifetime; it is Just for a Brief Time Period since the body Is Attempting to adapt to the changes,” he explained
