Seyi Awolowo recounts how his father disowned him multiple times
Reality star Seyi Awolowo has opened up about the challenges he faced growing up, including being disowned multiple times by his father.
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Seyi, the grandson of the late patriot Obafemi Awolowo, shared insights into his difficult upbringing in a polygamous family.
“My dad disowned me a couple of times. Not just me, a couple of us,” he said, illustrating the complex family dynamics he experienced.
Seyi also mentioned that his father, who had three wives, maintained detailed records on each of his children.
“My dad married more than one wife. He married three wives,” Seyi revealed, adding that his father wrote letters to cut off his children, reducing their identities to mere names on a list.
“We all have files. As of right now, your name is just Seyi, full stop,” he said.
