Shalipopi part ways with record label boss, Dapper music
Afropop star Shalipopi has announced his exit from Dapper Music, accusing the record label boss of exploitation.
This announcement follows Seyi Vibez’s recent departure from the same label.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Shalipopi detailed the reasons behind his decision, citing issues such as a lack of transparency about his finances, a conflict of interest jeopardizing his career, and an unfair “forever deal.”
He also called on fans to distance themselves from any collaborations involving him and the label, while expressing gratitude for their steadfast support.
Part of the statement reads,”“I come to you today with a heavy heart. I’m officially ending my agreements with Dapper Music. I had to take this decision after my trust was broken, my finances mishandled, and my rights as an artist were disregarded. I’ve worked hard and deserve to know where my money is going. I was denied access to my money”.
