Flavour opens up on his early transition in the music industry
Renowned highlife singer Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour N’abania, recently opened up about his early journey in the music industry.
In an interview on the UK’s In My Opinion podcast, Flavour recounted how he began his career by performing for small crowds in the East, captivating them with his unique sound.
Realizing the need to expand his reach, and confident in his abilities, he decided to take a night bus to Lagos. The very next day, he recorded his first song and reached out to Nigerian rapper Mr. Raw, requesting a feature on the track.
The rapper agreed and after he added his tune to the song, he took the CD and traveled back to Enugu.
He noticed that people fell in love with the song and printed several copies of the CDs and sold them to everyone he could find.
Flavour also revealed that he learned a lot about becoming an artist from Mr. Raw.
