Davido cries as his father-in-law prays for him and Chioma
During most Nigerian weddings, the parents of the couple pray for them to give their blessing. In Davido and Chioma’s case, it was the bride’s father who performed this role.
In the attached clip, Davido and Chioma are seen kneeling before her father as he prays for them with a microphone in hand.
During his prayer, Chioma’s father remarked on how the couple has fought many battles yet persevered against all odds.
Towards the end of the clip, Davido is seen weeping emotionally. His father-in-law hugs and consoles him lovingly.
Standing behind Davido is his best man and friend, Lati, who places the singer’s cap back on his head, while Chioma wipes the remaining tears from his face.
Davido has been very emotional during his wedding, and we earlier reported how he cried profusely at some point during the wedding, and his groomsmen cheered him up.
Spinning back to the statement Chioma’s father made about the couple fighting many battles, there’s no way to actually pinpoint the struggle he was referring to because they were many.
