Nigeria’s power generation collapsed completely on Thursday at exactly 12.50pm to zero megawatt. Data from the country’s System Operator indicated
The data remained 0MW for about 3 hours as no power generation company in Nigeria produced a single megawatt of electricity.
The System Operator stated that the 11 distribution companies got zero electricity load allocation during the period of the collapse, meaning that for about three hours on Thursday no part of Nigeria got power supply from the national grid.
Electricity supply was later at about 3pm.
Epileptic power supply has persisted in many parts of the country, forcing citizens to source for alternative source of energy.
However, the situation worsened since fuel which is considered the alternative is scarce as many spend hours in filing stations queuing to get fuel.
