Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi ll, has urged state and federal government to use farming as a solution to youth unemployment and redundancy.
It was reported that Sanusi, while delivering his Sallah message at Kofar-Kwaru yesterday, said agriculture is the best weapon against unemployment.He said youths must engage in modern agriculture in order to reduce redundancy.
The emir also called on government at all levels to focus attention on agriculture through adequate and timely provisions of needed farming facilities and fertilizer to farmers.
“Our youths must try hard to return to farm so that they could be productive. We must go back to farm to produce more food and create more job opportunities for our people. Agriculture is a sector capable of providing job opportunities to many people,” he said.
Sanusi said agriculture was the only solution to the current economic challenges bedeviling the country, noting that all hands must be on deck to help the country out of the economic crisis.
