“Na Oxlade and Fireboy blow pain me pass” — Spyro reveals
Nigerian musician Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, commonly known as Spyro, opened up about his feelings regarding the success of Oxlade and Fireboy during a conversation with renowned podcaster Taymesan.
He shared his past frustrations, expressing how the rapid rise to fame of his contemporaries affected him.
Spyro disclosed that they all started their musical journeys as upcoming artists together, so witnessing Oxlade and Fireboy achieve success before him was a source of frustration.
He recounted a specific event in 2018 where he hosted a show featuring performances by Davido and Mayorkun. At that time, he had anticipated that his career would take off, especially since he had collaborated on a song with them.
Unfortunately for him, he didn’t blow then, and seeing others who used to be somewhat under him weakened his morale and drive.
However, he believes it was a lesson from God who was teaching him patience.
