Why I feel honored to have experienced prison – Tems
Musician Tems has reflected on her time in a Ugandan prison in 2020, describing it as a “blessing in disguise.”
Tems and fellow musician Omah Lay were detained by Ugandan police for allegedly violating COVID-19 regulations following their performances at Speke Resort in Kampala on December 12, 2020. News of their arrest quickly went viral, leading to their imprisonment.
However, both were released a few days later following the intervention of the Nigerian government.
During an interview with ES Magazine, the “Damage” crooner said she was honored to have gone to prison since it humbled her.
