Media reports reveal that James Barrese, the chief technology officer of PayPal, will resign on April 1 and his position will be taken over by two people.
The online payments giant disclosed the news in an SEC filing, which was first spotted by ZDNet, according to a TechCrunchreport.
As for Barrese’s replacements, Sri Shivananda, PayPal’s vice president of global platform and infrastructure, will take over as chief technology officer, while William Ready, the company’s global head of product and engineering, will head the payment services functions that Barrese currently oversees.
TechCrunch reports that it has contacted PayPal for information about the leadership change, but there has not been a report of a PayPal response as at press time.
Barrese joined PayPal in 2011 after spending a decade at eBayand was appointed the payment platforms’ chief technology officer in 2012.
