Peach Allergy Symptoms and Diagnosis

Swelling of lips, burning sensation on tongue, watery eyes and recurrent coughing are a few negative symptoms you will encounter after eating cherry fruit, if you have peach allergy.

Researchers state the symptoms of peach allergy show by two trigger: either from spores residing in peach fruit or because of birch-pollen allergens.

People who’re sensitive to birch-pollen may see mild to moderate allergic signs with peach, because immune system identifies proteins in peach as birch-pollen.

Washing or cooking the food will destroy the pollen allergens. However, you must check with allergist to determine the right allergic substance.

Oral Allergy Syndrome

It’s triggered by cross-reactivity between pollen and raw fruits. Your immune system detects similar proteins in raw fruit and pollen, which triggers an allergic reaction.

As mentioned above, cooking will destroy the proteins and pollen like substances.

Symptoms of Peach Allergy

Aside from pollen allergy, hypersensitive individual can be allergic towards proteins in peach .

When he/she touch or ingest with the peach fruit immune system reacts negatively by releasing IgE antibodies. Researchers affirm the lipid transport protein along with other large proteins in peach .

IgE antibodies find proteins in peach and activate a chemical reaction with mast cells and histamines. Hence that the individual experiences various symptoms.

Symptoms include mild oral allergy syndrome, hives, swelling of lips, tongue, face, throat, itching, wheezing, nasal congestion, sneezing, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, difficulty in breathing and in rare situations anaphylaxis condition can be experienced.

Diagnosis and Prevention

Preventing is the only method to decrease food allergies. Canned peaches and peach fruits also trigger allergic symptoms.
Hypersensitive individuals must steer clear of all food products which have peach or fruit to prevent allergies.

If you notice any of the aforementioned indications, consult allergist or dermatologist for identification. He’ll expose skin to several allergens to ascertain the material that triggered the response.

When the allergen is supported, you need to avoid it in a variety of kinds.

In rare situations, by simply touching cherry you will experience mild allergic signals.
