Grass Pollen Allergy Symptoms

Grass pollens are essentially microscopic materials made of trees, grass, and flowers that are capable of causing allergies. Pollens are powdered such as substance which aids in fertilizing plans. These pollens are taken off to long distances by air, plants, insects that cannot be seen but are harmful to people allergic to grass pollen. Inhaling grass pollens can affect one’s immune system, which might occasionally prove to be acute.

Some people may be affected by pollen allergy through this year whereas some could get affected by early fall or late spring season.

Grass Pollen Allergy Symptoms

If you are allergic to pollen and have been to outdoors in the playground or in lawn you may trigger the following symptoms

  • Sneezing
  • Runny nose
  • Itchy eyes
  • Watery eyes
  • Cough
  • Itchy throat
  • Nasal congestion
  • Sinus
  • Asthma

After the body comes in contact pollens, it believes it as harmful or dangerous and releases germs called histame to be able to fight all the pollens. As a consequence of your body becomes upset and reveals symptoms and signs of grass pollen allergy.

Types of pollen allergy

  1. Grass pollen allergy: grass is the main culprit which causes pollen allergy. Many times it causes severe reactions which take lot of time to be cured. These grass pollens are very much active during summers.
  2. Ragweed pollen allergy: ragweed plants generate pollens which are highly active during fall and late spring months. These pollens are also airborne and can cover a long distance.

How to avoid pollen allergy

The best way to avoid pollen allergy is to avoid pollen. However here are few tips in order to avoid pollen allergy

  • Don’t go outdoors especially on a windy day. The wind carries pollens and if you are allergic then you may get affected. It’s better to stay indoors on pollen season and windy days.
  • If going out always carry sunglasses and protect your eyes.
  • It is advisable to cover your face with a mask when the pollen counts are high.
  • Always check the weather forecast before going outdoors, particularly check the pollen counts.
  • Avoid gardening by yourself as it may affect your health.
