The Top 3 Legally Marijuana Friendly Places In the World

The Top 3 Legally Marijuana Friendly Places In the World

Marijuana is a substance derived from two varieties of the Cannabis plant, i.e., Cannabis indica or Cannabis sativa. This substance is mostly available as a dried leaf. Some people produce it from the stems, seeds, or flowers of the Cannabis plant. Marijuana is useful as a medicinal or recreational drug. For example, people living with chronic pain can use it to ease their suffering. Cannabinoids, one of the 60 chemicals in marijuana, is responsible for easing this pain. It is worth noting that marijuana is an illicit drug in the US despite the fact that it has medicinal uses. Some states in the country have taken steps to legalize it, but these steps remain minimal compared to what nations have done. Here are the top 3 legally marijuana friendly places in the world.

  1.   Uruguay
Uruguay is a Latin American country that borders Argentina and Brazil. It has a robust economy with a GDP of $56.16 billion. This economy is growing at 2.7% annually according to the World Bank. The country depends heavily on agricultural exports such as soybeans, rice, and wheat. Thousands of people in Uruguay cultivate Cannabis as well. However, they do not export it. Instead, they sell it to marijuana users in Uruguay or they use it themselves. They use it openly and freely because marijuana is a legal substance in Uruguay. Interestingly, 54% of the population accesses this drug legally. Even pharmacies are selling the drug to users who want it for recreational purposes. The only restriction is that the users have to be eighteen years and older. They should be residing in Uruguay as well. Unfortunately, Uruguay is far away. Find a local Las Vegas dispensary if you want marijuana.

  2.    The Netherlands
The Netherlands is a highly prosperous country. It lies in the Northwestern part of Europe. This European nation has a border with Germany on its eastern side and another one with Belgium to its south. The Netherlands is famous for many things. For example, the International Criminal Court sits in one of its cities. However, it is famous for having liberalized laws as well including limited restrictions on the use of marijuana. Millions of people travel to the Netherlands every year to experience this liberalized culture. Unsurprisingly, the easy access to this drug in this nation shocks many of them. For example, did you know that coffee shops in the Netherlands sell marijuana? Did you also know that possessing 5 grams of it or less is legal? However, possessing 30 grams of it is a misdemeanor while having more than 30 grams of it leads to criminal charges.

  3.    Canada
The second-largest trading partner for the United States is Canada. Canada is also a developed economy with a highly liberal society. For example, it consistently ranks as one of the most tolerant nations in the world. Recently, Canadians showed how liberalized their society is. More specifically, the country legalized the use of marijuana for recreational purposes. Canada is the second country in the world to legalize it after Uruguay did it in December 2013. Today, marijuana sales are taxable in Canada. Financial analysts have predicted that the tax revenue from this product will be high. These analysts base these expectations on the fact that the Canadian marijuana market has an estimated value of $23 billion.
